Kobi Jaeger: CineMob's Founder

A Visionary Producer and Innovator

Since 1960, KOBI JEAGER has forged an illustrious career as a theater, TV, and feature producer, director, and production executive. In the early 1960s, Kobi founded Stern TV, where he conceived a pioneering business model that hinged on producing filmed content from Stern Magazine’s company-owned Intellectual Property (IP).

This innovative venture led to Bertelsmann acquiring Stern (both print and TV). Impressed by Kobi's acumen, Bertelsmann’s founder, Reinhard Mohn, recruited him as the president of a newly formed Bertelsmann TV unit. Using the Stern TV model as inspiration, Kobi launched Germany's first commercial television in 1964.

After successfully launching the Bertelsmann network, Kobi ventured to the U.S. to produce movies and television. In the late 1970s, media magnate Rupert Murdoch approached him to recreate the Stern/Bertelsmann model for NewsCorp Publishing’s company-owned IP. Kobi accepted the challenge and served as the chief executive of that NewsCorp division for seven years. Working directly with Murdoch, he helped create the media infrastructure necessary for building a fourth national U.S. TV Network.

Pioneering Change and Transformative Projects

Kobi’s career has been marked by several transformative projects. From converting the Montague Beach Hotel into the bustling Nassau Film Studios, initiating the innovative Yale Drama School Script Writing Workshop, to guiding the rise of Victory Entertainment - the Universal Studios Company that acquired Disney’s digital animation outfit and became a trailblazing internet player.

Working closely with two of the era's most impactful empire builders equipped Kobi with a unique blend of entrepreneurial expertise in content production, communication, and technology. Always at the heart of his approach has been a drive for transformation, informed by an uncanny ability to recognize when industries need to evolve.

The Genesis of CineMob: A Response to a Failing Industry

Always curious and ready to innovate, Kobi Jaeger dared to test the potency of word-of-mouth for his film 'Till Marriage Do Us Part'. Utilizing the Nassau Film Studios, transformed from the Montague Beach Hotel, and leveraging his outfit, Franklin Media, the film enjoyed over a year's success purely based on word of mouth. This experiment became the foundation stone for CineMob's vision.

Kobi recognized the film distribution and exhibition industry's stalemate, stuck in its outdated supply-driven model, unable to transition to a demand-focused economy. Motivated by this realization, he pioneered CineMob. This revolutionary solution aims to fill empty theaters and use billions of unused movie tickets, aligning the movie-going experience with an on-demand economy.

Inspired by the community-driven success of his experiment, Kobi saw the potential of word-of-mouth to reshape the modern theatrical experience. With CineMob, he aspires to rejuvenate the languishing cinema-going tradition. His vision, born from a career distinguished by seizing opportunities for transformative change, promises to revolutionize how we engage with movies.
